Time tested: 500 miles/three months

What’s good?
uglyBROS clothing is a Korean outfit that’s been making a solid name for itself overseas – especially in the US where it’s become well known amongst the ‘café racer’ scene. These solid, denim jeans take a more constructed, tailored approach to motorcycle denim, taking cues from race leathers and featuring elasticated areas above the knees and the higher waistband. Alongside the expected internal pouches for hip-armour, uglyBROS uses pockets on the outside of the knees for the additional armour (provided). This means you can easily remove the armour and get on with your day without having to take your trousers down. The slimmer, tighter fit is also much welcomed over some of the larger brands’ baggier styles.

What’s not?
Although the armour is CE approved, the Kevlar is Dupont and the denim is of a decent grade, there is still a slight, nervous worry as to how all of these things will combine in an accident. And without an official UK supplier you’re at the mercy of additional custom and excise charges when the jeans land in the UK.
