Unlike most riding jeans, we wanted to equip our pants with superior impact protection. The protector pockets accept CE-rated Powertector® protectors in knees and hips (sold separately).

"I love these pants! They have a few troublesome bits here and there that keep this from a full five stars, but I'll start by saying none of them will prevent me from buying another pair. The Pros: VERY comfortable, well made, decent knee pads, excellent pockets, drawstring makes sizing easy for hourglass and pear-shaped figures. I can just pull the pads out and be ready for work. Fabric washes easily (and shrinks just a bit, so if you're between sizes, some of that looseness will go away with washing) The Cons: pretty warm even without pads, the (gray) fabric bleaches in the sun easily, the looser fit means pads slip around a bit, and the drawstring needs to be pretty high and tight to keep the back of the pants from dipping down when hunched on a bike - I have a tramp stamp sunburn because I couldn't feel my jacket had ridden above my waistband on a hot, humid day. Ouchie. Also, the price point is pretty prohibitive, but I do feel like you get some bang for your buck and will buy myself another pair down the line. Still my favorite pants so far. Not as constricting as a lot of the other options, and it's nice to have a reliable pair that also don't look bad at all. If I were getting up to some hooligan nonsense, I feel confident in the construction and the materials. I don't plan on personally testing these riding pants in a crash, but it's nice to both not hate my pants and also not feel like I'm gonna turn into a meat crayon while I'm wearing them."

"Once inserted, the kneepads sit below the actual kneecaps so they aren’t protected. Will have to have a custom sewing job done to fix that. Otherwise, very comfortable and fit well. Great construction and good quality. Glad to be protected by them."
